I went to my local bagel place the other day and the topic of conversation became this new product, Wrecking Balm. Being entwined with the tattoo world, I couldn’t help but ease drop on the discussion between the bagel maker and his customer. Like so many people these days, the bagel guy had a tattoo he wasn’t happy with. From my third party perspective, the spiral on his arm looked fine to me, but apparently it’s something he’s hated from the moment he got it, and who’s asked for my opinion, I not even in the conversation.
The bageler launched into a dissertation on laser tattoo removal stating the facts of how it cost too much, takes too long, and hurts like hell. The customer seemingly intrigued by the bageler’s remorse suggested he keep the tattoo just as it is. But, the bageler shook his head saying he just couldn’t settle with living it.
The bageler searching asked if the customer had ever heard of wrecking balm? Interested for the reaction, I looked at the customer’s face. She had heard of the product but her opinion was “it’s just a bunch of creams… and it doesn’t work.”
Avoiding the temptation to rudely pipe up, admitting I had listed to every word I didn’t speak. I desperately wanted to inform the bagel guy that WreckingBalm was not just a bunch of cream and that it is uniquely designed using several known tattoo removal techniques.
I really wish I would have given him the website WreckingBalm to learn more about the product and how it uses a variety of creams and gels along with what they call a dermal device to remove the upper layers of the skin and eventually remove the tattoo.
The next time I see the bageler, I am going to mention his tattoo and tell him about my tattoo removal curiosities.
